Scheduling

If cows have access to outside exercise off cement, twice a year trimming may not be necessary. However, an excellent rotation is to trim at dry off and then again at 150 days in milk. Larger dairies may need a day every week or two while smaller dairies may only need a scheduled trim twice a year. Most clients maintain a regular day of a given week in the calendar which makes scheduling easier for everyone. When dealing with lame cows or less than ideal cow traffic conditions, I'm able to trim about 5-7 cows per hour. If just maintenance trimming is required, and cow flow is good, the average is about 10 cows per hour. I usually trim about 50 cows each day, but frequently many more if required.

A reminder postcard will be sent to you a week in advance confirming your appointment.
